A couple of new reads on my list that I thought I’d share. One is a book I have been meaning to read for several years the other something I have seen widely recommended. The second of these is of general interest to any writer, the first is somewhat specialist.
How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy by Orson Scott Card: the gentleman himself maybe stirring up controversy at the moment (google if you are interested) but he is well-known as someone who can teach the craft. His website Hatrack River is full of interesting articles and I recommended it. If pure science fiction is your thing then Ender’s Game and Speaker for the Dead are highly recommended
Reading Like a Writer by Francine Prose: I am focussing on fiction writing for a few months (including with NaNoWriMo) and need to get more conscious of what I read to better inform my writing. This title is widely recommended so I am giving it a try.
