Repost: World Book Day 2014 advice in the Daily Telegraph

World Book Day 2014World Book Day 2014 has been and gone. In the flurry of web content and publicity there was much to get distracted by beyond the tales of children dressing up as Harry Potter characters. One piece that caught my attention was in the Daily Telegraph. Titled Writing tips from Cressida Cowell and Charlie Higson this is an extensive piece with some very detailed advice from the two authors.

Cressida Cowell talks about scene setting and Charlie Higson talks character and motivation. In fact they both cover the same set of headings but the result is two very different pieces gathered in one place. Highly recommended!
