HG Wells Competition 2014

HG Wells FestivalThere are lots of competitions available to writers but if, like me, you are interested in science fiction then the name HG Wells surely grabs attention. You may not know but in Folkstone there is an HG Wells Festival and as part of it there is a competition for writers. Entry is up to £10 per story (depends on circumstances) and stories must be 1,000 – 5,000 words. Science fiction is not essential – don’t forget Wells wrote many excellent stores including The History of Mr Polly without any aliens or other trappings of the genre.

Update – 29 April 2014: The closing date is 14 July with announcements on 21 September. Thanks to the organisers for giving me the update.
