I thought I’d mention one of the pieces I recently produce for Starburst. You may remember that, back in November 2013, I was lucky enough to Visit a Recording Studio. The studio in question was the Big Finish studio (aka The Moat House). I was invited by producer David Richardson and had the chance to interview no less than eight people in the space of one afternoon…
The secret to interviewing is definitely preparation and there is no substitute for experience. The write-up from the day was published on June 1st a mere seven months after the event: Audio Feature: SURVIVORS Returns. The timing is to match the release of the first series of Survivors from Big Finish. My thanks to everyone involved (too numerous to mention). The piece was linked to from the fan site Survivors: A world away – news.
If you don’t know, Survivors was a 1970s BBC programme set after an apocalypse that wipes out most of humanity and was created by Terry Nation (Daleks and Blake’s 7). It bears comparison to John Wyndham’s Day of the Triffids and also Christopher Priest’s The Death of Grass.
If you’ve read the piece please do comment. If there’s anything similar I could write up for you please do get in touch.
