I haven’t mentioned my reading list recently; to put that right I thought I’d recommend the book I am reading now: Your Sitcom Mission… Should You Choose To Accept It. There is a reason why I am looking into writing a sitcom (and it is partly to stretch my thinking). This book has lots of positive reviews, is inexpensive on kindle and written by two authors (Simon Wright and Declan Hill) who know their trade. There is also a bonus of a whole extra book (yes these are ebooks so short but intense) of advice based on the experience of John Vorhaus.
This book is easy to read and aimed at writers. It may target sitcom writing but there is a lot here about characterisation, effective plotting and much else that should benefit many writers.
Do let me know what you think!
