Need a review? Please read and mind the crowd

crowd of pedestriansHi to anybody visiting who wants to get in touch for a book review. I’m very flattered but, just for the next few months, very busy. In the last week I’ve turned down half-a-dozen people, not because I don’t think their project is worth a review but simply as I have more offers than I can deal with. I also have NaNoWriMo coming up and a lot to do for my regular gigs such as Starburst. Christmas is nearly here and I have a lot of new books / audios being offered.

This all bodes well for the creativity of the world but does show there is a massive shortfall of reviewers.

Two types of review

There are, of course, two broad types of review:

  1. The ‘give me $5 I’ll give you 5* on Amazon’ reviews
  2. I’ll actually try to read your work and let you know if I like it.

I’m a type reviewer and will give genuine feedback. This does mean you might not like (or want) to know that I didn’t like your work but that is the nature of the game I’m afraid.

What I can promise is to be as constructive as possible – I’m a writer as well and I know the benefit of good feedback.

If you do want something reviewed and still want to drop me a line then do, but don’t be surprised if I ask you to come back in 2015;-)
