Just a quick note, being Easter weekend I have spent some time at the UK’s annual Easter Science Fiction Convention. The event was held at Heathrow airport, and called Dysprosium. If you are a science fiction / fantasy / horror writer I suggest events like this are essential. I caught up with some friends, writers, met an interesting artist and spoke to several small presses; I will post some follow up blogs in the next week.
Networking is essential; in my dual role as reviewer and writer (or triple role if you include fan) it is vital to make contacts. I live in the south of England so many events are in striking distance. This is not an excuse for others – there are conventions held all over the world and all round the year. If you are a writer in this genre, why not look for the next convention to be held near you?
Let me know how it turns out!
