Following my observations on the Anatomy of a Kindle Promotion I have had some discussions on the Fantasy Authors’ Group on Google+. This has led me to exploring another strategy, which I outline here and will update you next week once I’ve digested the figures.
It all revolves around a promotion for my latest Jon Seyton novella, The Marylebone Magician…
As I said in the previous post (and other concur), most benefit comes from the first day’s promotion. With a new title I want as many new readers (and hopefully reviews) as possible. To this end The Marylebone Magician will be free on Kindle Friday May 29 – Sunday May 31, 2015. As per CM Skiera’s post (see here) I have targeted a dozen outlets for promotion. What I am doing different is this:
- One third I have booked Friday – Sunday
- One third Saturday – Sunday
- One third Sunday only
The idea is the one day spike gets spread amongst all the channels and gives me better penetration. I’ll let you know how it works!
